Membership: Chairman Ron Snyder, H&R Accounts, Moline, IL Initiative: Increase membership by at least 7 members (so we can retain 3 national directors). Talk to members who did not renew their memberships to determine why.

Grievance/Compliance: Daniel Burtis, Merchants Credit Guide, Chicago. Initiative: Receive and act on (in accordance with our Standard Operating Procedures) grievances lodged against members of ICA.
Education: Ken Armstrong, Creditors’ Discount and Audit, Streator, IL. Initiative: Determine members’ need/interest for ACA Seminars in Illinois and schedule as appropriate. Work with ACA, if member interest justifies, to schedule state specific teleseminar(s) on issues of concern.
Newsletter: Roger Medlin, Executive Secretary. Initiative: Publish quarterly newsletter
National Legislative: Sheila O’Leary, ICUL Service Corporation, Naperville. Initiative: keep members informed of legislative issues at the federal level that concern our industry, represent ICA at ACA Fly-Ins and bring our needs and story to elected representatives at the federal level. Urge ICA members to respond to ACA Government Affairs Calls to Action.
State Legislative; Rod Goodall, Creditors Collection Bureau, Kankakee. Initiative: work with ICA hired lobbyist to fight adverse legislation in Illinois state legislature, keep members informed of legislative at the state level that concern our industry, organize and co-host (with lobbyist) state legislative strategic planning meeting in the Fall, 2010.
Public Relations: Irwin Bernstein, Allgate Financial LLC, Northbrook, IL. Initiative: coordinate and sponsor select events independently and in conjunction with ACA International’s media and public relations programs to promote public awareness, acceptance and appreciation for the collection industry and this Association.
ICAPAC/ACPAC: Ray Hollenbeck, American Collection Corp., Schaumburg, IL. Initiative: solicit contributions from ICA members for our state political action committee (ICAPAC) and for ACA International’s PAC (ACPAC). Our goal is to be able to influence legislation by gaining access through PAC contributions to key legislative races.
Budget: Tony Muscato (Treasurer), Creditors Discount & Audit, Streator, IL. Prepare budget recommendations for 2011 fiscal year (January – December, 2011), present proposed budget to Unit Board of Directors for approval in December.
Bylaws Review: Randy Gelb, ICS, Tinley Park. Initiative: Review the bylaws and Standard Operating Procedures of ICA, recommend amendments to make consistent with ACA Bylaws and to update to reflect direction. Determine need for bylaw changes to allow ICA membership for other classifications of members, including MAP attorneys, ABD members, and CI members. Frank Bruno of Dependon Collection Service, Oak Brook; Karolyn Rubin of BCC in Chicago, and Ron Krech of CCB Credit Services in Springfield also serve on this committee. Advertising/Website: Connie Matrisch (Vice President), Pro Com Services of Illinois, Springfield. Initiative: suggest upgrades to ICA website, solicit more vendor partners.
Annette and Russ Lawson Memorial Scholarship Committee: Sheila O’Leary, ICUL Service Corporation Naperville. Initiatives: Finalize application and award process, fundraise.
