Tips for checking and maintaining your credit report
Begin by pulling your credit report from all three bureaus once a year. The FACTACT, a part of the Fair Credit Reporting Act allows you access to your credit report free of charge. You can get your free credit report by going to www.annualcreditreport.com. Check to ensure the information is accurate, if you find errors, you should report them to the bureau which has published the report.

Information entered about past due accounts remain on a consumers credit report for seven years from the date of occurance.
